Tuesday Tip
I have a freezer bag marker pen which I use, not surprisingly, to mark containers that I'm putting into the freezer. I usually cook double quantities and those meals are really welcome after a long, late day when I finally arrive home. However I also find the pen to be useful when marking things to go into the fridge. I know, someone, somewhere is sighing, rolling her eyes and saying "Virgo!" I like to know when the Organic Tomato Paste will expire so I mark the tube, a normal marker pen wipes off but this one has staying power. So, from jams to mayo to paste if the container reads "use within 30 days of opening" I'm too sissy to regard that as a guideline, I stick to it and my trusty freezer bag marker pen helps me out.

I would like to mark my food as well and of course the baby food but I store it all in re-useable containers and so face the predicament of having to scratch out and re-mark which of course would look horrid and so alas I am left guessing...
(I used to mark Amy's baby food with stickers - green = veg, red = meat, blue = fish etc ...so you see, you aren't the only anal sign!)
I love the colour coding idea, I store meat alphabetically in the freezer. I buy the Addis disposable containers, they work well for a few re-uses and don't cost too much.
I am a freezer marker too - for Sarah's food it is great to do - i put the container in a freezer bag and then write what it is and the date I made it so I know how long it can stay in there!! Now that is double anal!!!
I am a huge stationery freak so I think this all ties in well with that - I love marking things!! So much fun!! Virgos!!! (And Taureans)!!! Ronnie xx

this seems like a fabulous , if not extremely boring, thing to do. I do admire te organized amongst us I am just not one of them
